The Seiko Lord Marvel, introduced in 1958, marked Seiko’s debut into the realm of high-end luxury watches. Building upon this legacy, the Seiko caliber 5740B emerges as a significant evolution in horology, showcasing the technical prowess that distinguishes Seiko's watchmaking tradition.

Produced for a brief period in 1966, the caliber 5740B is a rare find today, with its limited production adding to its allure. Hailed as an essential predecessor to the 36,000 bph hi-beat movements, the caliber 5740B continues the lineage of excellence initiated by the 5740C. Produced meticulously at the prestigious Suwa factory in Nagano, Japan, this movement stands as a testament to Seiko’s uncompromising dedication to quality.

This watch was produced in September 1966 and comes with manual winding.

·       Dial: The sunburst dial is in very good condition with a few “beautispots” not visible to the naked eye.

·       Hands: Close to mint condition.

·       Crystal: Polished and in very good condition. A few marks can still be seen.

·       Case: In good condition with some wear on the back and small marks and hairlines after a long life in service.

The watch has been stripped down, cleaned and serviced according to Seiko service specifications so you can enjoy the watch for years to come without thinking of maintenance.
